Winter Solstice 2009
I can’t believe another year has swung full circle already. I think there were many things on my list of to-do’s that did not even get touched. Oh well, it will be just fine and they may even get completed in 2010.
This year we had Winter Solstice again here at Earth Spirit Healing Center and what an amazing night it was! We had 32 people show up for the festivities compared to last year 7 people showing up. I know the energies settling in these past few months have brought with it a lot of change for people and I believe that folk of like minds are ready to gather, learn new things and have fun celebrating different traditions. It is very exciting to see the changes that are occuring and to be a part of the creation of that.
We began the evening with a pot luck, you can only imagine the fabulous mouth watering goodies that showed up! I am still waddling around. he, he….
Next, while we digested some of that food, Deb and Nic led us in a Peruvian Despacho Ceremony of Light with the intention of bringing Peace to the world.
We created Kintus, which are prayer bundles, each of us adding our prayers and intentions to the Despacho.
Despacho completed, how beautiful! I have been to several of these ceremonies and each one is very unique dependant on the people that show up, the energies required for healing and the intentions set.
After the Despacho is complete it is wraped up into a bundle and used to wipe down each person, releasing any dense energies or anything not wanted. Once that was complete we had a drumming and sound session that lasted about a half hour. Again, amazing energies felt by all and it allowed time to connect within to contemplate, meditate and experience a higher vibratory rate than normal.
Mike led us through an exercise that helped us to connect with a partner, make a heart connection and to speak something that their soul wanted to know. To me this was more than I had expected. It opened a place in my heart and soul that had been afraid to open and express herself. Thank you Mike!
And after all of that, those who could stay and join us, went out back where we built a fire in the sub zero weather with Sister Wind howling at us, speaking of mind shifts and moving past our fears. Once Brother Fire was roaring with glee we offered the Despacho to Pacha Mamma, Mother Earth and she quickly gobbled the offering up. We sang, we danced, we connected again on a deeper level knowing that we are not alone, ever. Our Ancestors, our Elementals, our Guides, our Angels and our Power Animals are with us always, nudging us to the next best thing and bringing us into the collective consciousness so that as we heal ourselves we heal others as well.
